Sigils

There are still only a few Sigils currently in the game, but Blizzard has promised many more to come for your Death Knight in Wrath of the Lich King. Currently all Sigils are aimed at increasing your damage, as such there are no specific tanking Sigils currently available.

This Sigil is your starting one that you gain when you create your character. It is a solid basis to start from, but once you hit Northrend you will be looking to replace it.

This Sigil is perfect for those of you that are Unholy spec and to a slightly lesser extent Frost spec. Because you are able to almost spam Scourge Strike at times as Unholy, this Sigil will get good use on a majority of your attacks. Frost spec tends to use Obliterate slightly less, but it is still a very solid choice here. Blood spec Death Knights should avoid this Sigil as they tend to only use Obliterate to trigger Death Runes. This Sigil drops in Naxxramas in heroic version (25 man).

This is the Sigil of choice for Blood spec Death Knights. Relative to other specs, Blood spec Death Knights produce many more Blood/Heart Strikes, thus increasing the chance of the Sigil to proc sooner. It is available for the cost of 15 Northrend heroic badges.

If you are a tanking Death Knight that has not yet reached the recommended defense rating, this is your prefered Sigil. All tanking specs will include Icy Touch as part of their rotation, so it is good for all Death Knight tanks.

If you are an Unholy Death Knight that isn´t yet able to get the Sigil from 25 man Naxxramas, this is a perfect substitute. You will tend to spam Scourge Strike at times when your blood runes become death runes, meaning you´ll get full use out of this Sigil.

A good all round Sigil, though it will be useless for Frost Death Knights that have speced for Frost Strike (which uses runic power and replaces Death Coil in your rotations).

This Sigil provides a nice boost to your Icy Touch, but before picking this Sigil you should check how often you actually use Icy Touch. Unholy Death Knights will not use it often (as Scourge Strike refreshes diseases) and most Blood and Frost specs pick up talents to increase the duration of diseases (you would only use Icy Touch if you need to apply its disease).

This Sigil is by far the best option for you if you are a tanking Death Knight and have access up to Ulduar loot. You are able to get it from Razorscale.

This Sigil is the best choice for any Death Knight that does damage (for Blood, Frost and Unholy) from the loot up to Ulduar. When combined with the corresponding glyphs for Frost Strike or Death Coil (dependant upon your spec), this Sigil really shines.
